Chocolate Cat & Bat Cookies

This is a chocolate rolled butter cookie.



1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 c. soft butter
1 egg
2 packages of "chocobake"
or

1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa
or

2 squares of unsweetened baking chocolate (melted)
1 T. cream
1 t. vanilla

Sift the flour and combine with the baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream the butter and sugar and then add the egg and the chocolate. Add cream and vanilla. You may need to add a little more cream if the dough is too dry. Also, you might not need quite so much sugar in the recipe unless you have a bad sweet tooth.

Refrigerate the dough for an hour or two, then roll out and use Halloween cookie cutters such as bat or cat shape (Hallmark makes them).

Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 - 8 minutes.
